About Us
Hi I'm Saul and welcome to Steam Decked.
A gaming and computer history in short. I've been a PC gamer for as long as I can remember, My Dad was a software engineer and we were luckiliy enough to have computers in the home from an early age. I'm talking of the days of Frogger, Commander keen, Wolvenstein. The early 80's. I was constantly formating my Dad's computer on failed attempts to get games working. I was moved on to an Atari STE and then I later became the owner of a 486. My Dad taught me how to build, maintain and optimise pc's and from that I have always been a PC tinkerer.
Why I got a deck? Since I've become a Dad I've had considerably less time to spend gaming espcially the MMO time sinks that I've always loved. Purchasing the Steam Deck was a way to keep gaming while being fleixble. I still enjoy the occasional late night session but I've become so much more a casual dad gamer. Both my boys are now expressing an interest in gaming and the Deck allows me to sit on the coach and play with them.
The aim of this site is to share my experience with games, software and hardware on the Steam Deck. I'll look at which games work well, which need a bit of extra tinking and ones that just don't work. How they play on deck, steam linked from a PC and docked to a TV. What software I'm using (we all know the deck is more than just a games console). What hardware and attachements I've tried and use.
If you've any suggestions on games drop me messgae on the discord server. I'd happily talk through any issues you have with the Deck if I can help. I would be happy to jump in game should I get one of those rare late night sessions.
